3 is one of my favorite ages, so finding stocking stuffers for 3-year old boys is a really exciting task! These guys are learning so much, they’re at such a curious age, and they are ACTIVE.
But best of all, they will be so excited about Christmas this year that it will be a completely different experience!

Paint Sticks
Paint sticks are one of the funnest arts and crafts supplies for 3-year old boys that will be totally new to them and really, really exciting.
They work just like markers, but are actually made of paint, which means they’re much smoother and more vibrant.
My 3-year old LOVED these! We ended up needing to replenish them because they were used so much.
They’re a big winner for 3-year old boy stocking stuffers.
Thomas Minis
Thomas Minis are another really fun stocking stuffer for 3-year old boys, especially if they’re already in love with Thomas!
The mini version has their own fun and games, one of which is that each packet is a surprise…so you have no idea which train you’ll get!
These are perfect as stocking stuffers and a lot of fun for little train lovers.
Thomas Mini Train Shooter
If you’re going in the direction of Thomas Minis OR if you already have a Thomas Mini lover on your hands, then a mini train shooter is the perfect stocking stuffer for your 3-year old.
The shooter lets you put a mini inside of it and then sends it flying when you pull the trigger.
It’s a lot of fun for little boys, especially train loving ones, and is definitely a must-have for Thomas lovers!
Temporary Tattoos
Temporary tattoos are a great and very simple stocking stuffer for 3-year old boys that are really inexpensive, but will still be totally loved.
These tattoos aren’t all that hard to get off, so you don’t need to worry about them sticking around for a while, which is part of the fun.
Your little boy can enjoy a new tattoo every few days!
Safety Scissors
Preschool scissors are a really fun arts and crafts addition to a 3-year old’s stocking.
This is right when they are starting to use scissors for the first time, so it is a big moment for them!
Arts and crafts are also about to become a really big part of their lives, so it’s a great time to start building up their collection.
Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo
Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo is a really fun book for 3-year old boys, but what makes it great for a stocking stuffer idea is it’s size!
It fits perfectly into a stocking and it’s a board book, so it’s definitely sturdy.
More importantly though is that this is a really cute book that little boys all love. It’s a great addition to Christmas morning!
Glow in the Dark Stars
These glow in the dark stars are such a fun idea for 3-year old boys!
You stick them to their bedroom ceiling and then when they go to bed, they will glow in the dark for them.
This makes bedtime way more exciting, so this is a great idea for little boys that are struggling to stay in their bedroom at night.
Scented Markers
Scented markers are another really great arts and crafts idea for 3-year old boys and they make a perfect stocking stuffer!
These markers are truly washable which is a huge bonus, if not a necessity, when it comes to arts and crafts for 3-year olds.
They’re also a step up from crayons (at least, that’s how your little boy will feel), which makes them extra exciting to use.
Train Whistle
A train whistle is such a fun stocking stuffer for 3-year old boys and one that will definitely get a ton of use (so be ready for it!).
This is a great way to get their imagination going and is often one of the first “musical instruments” that they’ll start to play with.
Flashlight
This flashlight is such a fun stocking stuffer for 3-year old boys!
It’s such a simple thing that you’d never think would be a huge hit, but they will LOVE it.
This is something that they will use for both fun and practical reasons (as practical of a reason as a 3-year old can have, at least).
And it fits perfectly into a stocking, so it’s a great addition!
Trains
You can’t go wrong with trains for a 3-year old boy…and for some boys, trains is all you’ll need in their stocking!
The big winner with trains is definitely Thomas the Train, but for the purposes of a stocking, you can get a set of generic trains for a fraction of the price, they’ll fill up a stocking, and your little boy will love them just as much!
These are the trains that Thomas pulls, races, and talks to…they’re as much a part of the train family as any of Thomas’ other friends…and definitely a great stocking stuffer idea for 3-year old boys. 😉
Bath Crayons & Bath Dropz
This set of bath crayons and bath dropz is a double dose of bath fun AND arts and crafts, which is perfect for 3-year old boys.
Anything that extends bath time is a great idea and these crayons are extremely easy to clean up after, which makes them even better.
And the color dropz are really fun for little boys and a great incentive to get into the bath!
EZ Socks
Socks are one of my absolute favorite items to include as stocking stuffers (regardless of the age!) and EZ Sox are without-a-doubt the biggest hit with 3-year old boys.
They have really fun patterns, as well as no-slip grips on the bottom, but what is really cool about these socks are these little loops that they have that help your little one put their own socks on!
These were (and still are) both of my kids favorite socks. So they’re a great stocking stuffer idea for everyone in the family!
