Monster spray is one of my all-time favorite gift ideas for 5-year old boys.
But more importantly – it was also one of my 5-year old son’s favorite gifts.
Every night before bed, your child can spray wherever they’re worried that monsters can come…and the spray will keep them away!

These paint by sticker books were such a surprise hit with my 5-year old boy!

Where Are You? Personalized Book
This is one of the coolest gift ideas for 5-year old boys that I’ve ever seen and it was a huge hit with my own son.
Each book is personalized using your 5-year old’s name AND exactly what they look like.
Every page comes with a little story and you are sent on a search for yourself…just like the old-fashioned Where’s Waldo books!
This is really fun, cute, and totally unique. It’s a gift they’ll keep forever. 🙂
Exploration Kit
Without a doubt, one of the cutest thrills that 5-year old boys experience is a newfound love of exploration. And an exploration kit is the perfect way to foster that type of imagination.

Books for 5-Year Old Boys
Books are definitely one of the best gifts you can get for 5-year old boys and there are endless possibilities.
They’re definitely old enough to start listening to chapter books, which can be a really fun bonding experience.
But they’re also old enough to start reading on their own, so “simple” books actually have a new level of excitement for them.
And then, of course, there are the fabulous books that teach very valuable lessons (these are my absolute favorite).
It’s so hard to pick the absolute best books for 5-year old boys, but luckily there are some book series that you just can’t go wrong with:
- How Do Dinosaurs? – This series is a must for any boys interested in dinosaurs.
- Berenstain Bears – My 5-year old LOVES these and they teach great lessons.
- Dr. Seuss – this is how my son learned to read!
